History of GRP

GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastics) was discovered in the late 1940s. It was quickly adopted during the 1950s and 60s for a wide range of applications where its corrosive-proof properties, allied with its high strength and excellent appearance, soon provided to be invaluable. Its first main application was for boat building, where it gained acceptance in the 50s and is still widely used today. The uses for GRP have since broadened to the extent that it has now become the standard material for the construction of small craft, water tanks, building ponds and pools, roof lights and of course high performance waterproof coatings. In the last 10 years a rapid growth has occurred in the GRP industry as more and more people realise the benefits of GRP.

GRP Durability/Expectations

A survey of GRP buildings by the BRE (Building Research Establishment) in 2001 found the condition of several GRP buildings around 35 or 40 years old to be structurally sound.

We have a qualified team of installers who are all experienced in the design and construction. Whatever is your requirement, you are guaranteed that we will deliver an excellent service.
